The rheinfalls, one of the most attractive places of Switzerland
is visited every year by 1.5 million people. Unfortunately, there is a tendency
that the number of visitors decreases. This is the motivation to make the
rheinfall more attractive. Officials do not want a Disney like entertainment place,
but the town of Neuhausen has bought a previously industrial area in the neighborhood.
On the Zürich side (on the side of the Castle Laufen), a museum is planed
in order to have people stay longer.
- Walk paths will be extended, renewed and signed better.
- Important locations will be labeled as such.
- There are plans for a slope lift to ease the access to the rheinfalls.
- The rheinfall attraction will be linked with other touristic places as
the Munot, the island of Rheinau, the Technorama, the wine hills in Heggau
as well as the black forest.
It is not yet clear, how much money will be available
for these enhancements.
